High-Protein Chocolate Chip Bagels
Ever wish bagels were just a little more nutritious—and a lot easier to make? These Chocolate Chip Bagels are chewy, satisfying, and naturally high in protein thanks to a surprising combo: Original ChiChi and cottage cheese. There’s no yeast, no flour, and no kneading required. Just a handful of wholesome ingredients (including chickpeas!) for a quick, high-protein breakfast or snack that tastes way more indulgent than it is.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Original ChiChi
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup cottage cheese, drained
- 2–3 tbsp mini chocolate chips
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
Instructions
- Drain cottage cheese: Use a fine strainer or cheesecloth to remove excess moisture (just takes 30 seconds).
- Mix dough: In a bowl, combine ChiChi, baking powder, and drained cottage cheese. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Shape into 3 bagels (wet hands if sticky).
- Brush tops with beaten egg for shine.
- Bake or Air Fry. Oven: 350°F / 180°C for 18–22 min. Air Fryer: 320°F / 160°C for 10–12 min, until golden
Notes
Let cool slightly before slicing.
Store in fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer!
