WHAT IS CHICHI?

ChiChi is a chickpea-based hot cereal — think of it as a high-protein alternative to oatmeal, made from real chickpeas instead of oats. It's 100% plant-based, naturally gluten-free, and packed with 10-12g of protein per serving with no protein powders or isolates. Just add milk or water, cook for a few minutes, and top with your favorites.

WHO STARTED CHICHI?

ChiChi was founded by Chiara and Izzy, college roommates at Washington University in St. Louis. Chiara was frustrated with traditional oatmeal causing blood sugar spikes and energy crashes, so they started experimenting with chickpeas in their dorm room. What began as a $4,000 experiment has grown into a brand sold in over 300 stores nationwide including Target, Whole Foods, and Safeway.

HOW IS CHICHI DIFFERENT FROM OATMEAL?

ChiChi is made from chickpeas instead of oats, which means it has 60% more protein, 33% fewer net carbs, more fiber, and a lower glycemic index than traditional oatmeal. You get sustained energy all morning without the sugar crash. It's also naturally gluten-free and vegan. The taste is creamy and slightly nutty — like oatmeal's high-protein cousin.

IS CHICHI GOOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS?

ChiChi is a great option for anyone watching their nutrition. With 10-12g of protein and a low glycemic index, it keeps you full and energized longer than traditional oatmeal. Our Apple Cinnamon and Maple Brown Sugar flavors are especially popular with little ones. For children with peanut allergies, please note that our Peanut Butter Chip flavor and maple cups are processed in a facility that handles peanuts.

DOES CHICHI HAVE ADDED SUGAR?

Our Original flavor has no added sugar at all. Our flavored varieties like Apple Cinnamon, Maple Brown Sugar, Dark Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chip contain a small amount of cane sugar for natural sweetness — far less than most flavored oatmeal brands. We never use artificial sweeteners.

WHAT IS CHICHI'S RETURN POLICY?

At ChiChi, we take pride in the high quality and unique appeal of our chickpea hot cereal and strive for every customer to have a positive experience. If, for any reason, you're not fully satisfied, we're committed to making it right.

Returns

If you find yourself not completely in love with your first order at ChiChi, we're here to support you with a refund. We accept returns on your first order of up to 4 bags or $32, provided the request is made within 30 days from the order date.

To initiate a return, please email us at contact@chickpeaoats.com with your order number and reason for return.

There's no need to send the product back to us. Once your return request is approved, we'll process your refund minus a $9 return service fee.

Refunds

Once your return request is approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be issued to your original method of payment within the standard processing time.

If you haven't received your refund yet, we recommend checking your bank account again, contacting your credit card company (as processing time may vary), and reaching out to your bank (as refunds can take additional time to be posted).

Exchanges

We only replace items if they arrive defective or damaged. If you need to exchange an item for the same product, please email us at contact@chickpeaoats.com.

HOW MUCH PROTEIN IS IN CHICHI?

Each serving has 10-12g of protein, depending on the flavor! All from chickpeas, no powders or isolates!

WHY IS IT MADE FROM CHICKPEAS?

Compared to oats, chickpeas naturally have 60% more protein, 33% fewer net carbs, more fiber, and are low glycemic. High protein and low sugar is important for sustainable energy. If you eat ChiChi, you won't get a sugar crash, and are energized all morning!

IS IT VEGAN?

All of our flavors are 100% plant based. No dairy, no eggs, no animal products - just real ingredients that happen to taste amazing!

IS IT GLUTEN FREE?

ChiChi is made from chickpeas and other naturally gluten-free ingredients. While we are not certified gluten-free, we thoroughly clean our equipment between runs to minimize any risk of cross-contamination!

IS CHICHI PEANUT ALLERGY SAFE?

HOW DO I MAKE IT?

ChiChi can be prepared with milk or water, but we recommend using any kind of milk for the best taste and texture!

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

Creamy, a little nutty, and way more satisfying than oats. Think of it as oatmeal's high protein cousin!

WHAT IS THE TEXTURE?

ChiChi should be soft and creamy! When in doubt, add more milk or water, and cook for another 30 seconds.

Too thick? Add a splash of milk
Too liquidy? Cook for 30 secs to 2 mins longer
Undercooked/crunchy? Cook for 2 more mins
